BRT IS COMING TO CINCINNATI!
Metro is bringing Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) to Greater Cincinnati.
BRT is a high-quality, bus-based travel option that combines the speed, efficiency, and comfort of rail transit with the flexibility of traditional bus service. It’s a bold, new transit innovation for our region that will bring faster-than-ever service and significantly reduced travel times for riders. BRT systems can also encourage economic growth and community enhancements along its corridors and around BRT stations.
Through extensive public engagement and in-depth research, Metro's BRT study:

Analyzed four corridors to determine their ability to successfully support BRT service and infrastructure.

Identified two of those corridors to receive initial BRT service: Reading Road and Hamilton Avenue.

Determined service needs and features that people in the neighborhoods served by these corridors want.

Reinventing Metro
In May 2020, Hamilton County voters approved Issue 7 to provide additional funding for improved and expanded transit service and transit-related infrastructure throughout the county. With this boost, SORTA is bringing to life its Reinventing Metro plan and offering the Greater Cincinnati region exciting new transit services like Bus Rapid Transit that will better connect our community to jobs, education, health care, and entertainment, while also helping grow our regional economy.
